MEDES

The purpose of the MEDES initiative is to contribute to promoting publication in Spanish biomedical journals, as well as to encourage national and international circulation through various training and dissemination activities.

The initiative aims to develop the MEDES-Medicine in Spanish bibliographic database, whose content has been rigorously selected, in order to provide a query tool which focuses on aspects of clinical practice for health professionals, particularly those involved in primary care.

An annual conference will be held as part of the MEDES initiative, which will address issues related to biomedical publications in Spain.

The initiative has a Technical Committee which validates the selection of the database content, as well as taking part in the preparation of programmes for conferences and an Advisory Committee made up of acknowledged professionals from the fields of medicine, documentation, publication and technical scientific information, with consultative and representative functions.
